Our History
The Alden Presbyterian Church was organized on July 17, 1813 by Rev. John Spencer,
an itinerant Congregational minister. There were 12 charter members—six men and six
women. On May 16, 1817, the members voted to change the government from
Congregational to Presbyterian. After meeting in members’ homes and the village

women. On May 16, 1817, the members voted to change the government from
Congregational to Presbyterian. After meeting in members’ homes and the village
schoolhouse for several years, a building was erected in 1833. The present building
was dedicated May 29, 1910.

We offer a variety of ministries and programs for all ages. Our ministries are designed to help our members grow in their faith and serve others in our community. One of our passions is Neat Repeats. Neat Repeats has clothing for everyone, gently used, and free of charge.
